Electrical interference
In the section dealing with television interference
two types of interference were described. lithe
noise on your radio lasts quite some time then H is
probably caused by an appliance of the kind
listed on page 5 under TV interference type I.
lf the noise is rather like a short 'click' or 'buzz' then
it is probably caused by a switch in an appliance
of the kind listed on page 6 under TV interference
type2.
The way to find the source of the problem is the
same as suggested for televisions, so read the
advice on 'How to find the source of interference'
given on page 6.
Radio transmitter
interference
Radios can also suffer from radio transmflter
interference where often the voice of the person
using the CB or other type of radio transmflter can
be heard. This type of interference is usually
the result of leads connected to the radio picking
up the unwanted transmission. Therefore radio
transmitter interference is more common in hi-fi
systems which have a number of leads connecting
the units together In particular the leads to the
separate loud speaker units are often found to be
the leads which are picking up the interference.
You can try making the leads as short as possible,
making them into a neat bundle as shown if you
cannot shorten them. See Fig. 6
If this does not help. you can try moving the
position of the radio to another part of the room.
If this fails, go to your dealer He should be able to
advise you about either using special screened
cables or lifting components to filter out the
interference. |
Audio equipment
Audio equipment which does not incorporate a
radio tuner is designed to reproduce music and
not to receive radio signals. It is theretore outside
the scope of this booklet. It you are suffering
interference, a modification to the equipment will
be necessary. Please consult your dealer
