Electrical interference

Because nearly half of all TV reception problems are due to deficiencies and faults in the TV set, aerial lead or aerial, you should ensure your equipment is in good working order before checking for interference.

Many interference problems, however, can be traced to domestic electrical equipment or appliances in your own home or a neighbour's. The pictures and advice on this page should enable you to find the source of the trouble and point to a simple remedy,

This type of interference is commonly caused by any of the things listed below. It is heard on the TV sound as a buzz or whine, while the thing is being used.
